Just recently my school moved into a new building, the first environmental friendly school in the state of Delaware. Students have been learning how to take care of the school and its benefits to the environment and community. However, there was not enough funds in the project to build a playground. Students will research various eco-friendly playground equipment. They will compare and contrast the equipment in efforts to find the most suitable for the school and neighboring community. The students will write a persuasive letter to the administrative staff that lists their recommendations and benefits for the new playground equipment.

The essential question that I would like students to answer is: How will having an eco-friednly playground help the school and the community?
